The concept for Mitsui’s Northpoint office was evolved from the company’s Japanese origins. A refined aesthetic, brought to life with quality materials and workmanship, create a calm and captivating atmosphere.  

A soft colour scheme was paired with timber finishes to enhance the appeal of the light-filled workstation and meeting room areas, with a luminous interconnecting walkway creating a seamless path between the two spaces.  

Achieving a perfect balance when it came to the layout was initially a challenge in what is a relatively small space, with a distinct FOH & BOH area adding to the complexity of finding a solution that provided function and intrigue. In the end we were able to identify what worked for the client and aligned with our concept for the space.  

Sustainability was an important topic of conversation which our designers took onboard from the outset, developing a well thought out sustainability agenda. This included carefully selected furniture options, wall, flooring and joinery finishes from suppliers using ethically sourced products and environmentally friendly processes. Another strategy successfully implemented in our sustainability agenda was to incorporate some of the client’s existing furniture into the new space without sacrificing on the desired aesthetic.
