The concept for Mitsui’s Northpoint office evolved from the company’s Japanese origins. A refined aesthetic, brought to life with quality materials and workmanship, creating a calm and captivating atmosphere.
A soft colour palette was paired with timber textures to enhance the appeal of the light-filled office space, with a luminous interconnecting walkway creating a seamless path between the two spaces.
Achieving the perfect balance when it came to the layout was initially a challenge in what is a relatively small space, with a distinct FOH & BOH area adding to the complexity of finding a solution. In the end we were able to achieve a highly functional layout with a luxurious finish. Squeezing in a large boardroom that opened up to two smaller meeting rooms, workstations with an abundance of storage for each employee, collaboration and breakout zones and focus rooms to escape to.
Sustainability was an important topic of conversation which our designers took onboard from the outset, developing a well thought out sustainability agenda. This included carefully selected furniture options, wall, flooring and joinery finishes from suppliers using ethically sourced products and environmentally friendly manufacturing processes. Another strategy successfully implemented in our agenda was to reuse some of the client’s existing furniture. The concept was built up keeping these items in mind to ensure that they would integrate simply into the new space.
