Positioned in the heart of Surry Hills, 285a Crown Street is a warehouse style office building, with the culture of being a vibrant and collaborative work environment. Morphos were engaged by building owners LaSalle Investment Management to provide fit out works to 2 vacant suites, combining them into a single spec tenancy.
Carried out as a design and construct project, the solution was developed in line with the established culture of the space.
The design intent was to create an open and appealing space, one that complimented the existing base building finishes; exposed ceiling and concrete floor. To minimise wastage on the project, existing joinery and workstations were utilised, worked seamlessly into the final design to ensure consistency through the space; this considered design also reducing project costs.
The paired back approach to the suite, with neutral finishes, simple yet elegant furniture selection and open plan layout helps the space appeal to a variety of potential tenants. Soft touches of timber in the waiting area feature screening and kitchen breakout add to this neutral palette, while also complimenting the industrial qualities of the office.
