Alstom Transport is a fast-paced global transport company with a modern and united approach to working and interacting with their staff.

They came to us with a desire to re-plan and refurbish an existing tenancy. Their key objectives being that they wanted a space that was not only functional and collaborative but one that was bold, dynamic and motivational to their staff. It was imperative that the new space be extremely stimulating and evoke a sense of positive energy.

The refurbishment also brought an opportunity for a major workplace shift. By moving to a fully open plan setting, without any individual offices, the built environment better reflects Alstom’s culture and achieves a sense of synergy and movement that encourages staff interaction and unity. Within this context, teams and departments were intentionally located in a way that addressed their specific needs.

For the theme of the fit-out we worked with the blue and red company colours, using bold lines to reflect the industrial nature of their business. Combining a neutral palette with touches of the company colours, we created a personalised fit-out that achieved a strong brand presence.

Bold carpet features and a custom graphic mural for the breakout area make a bold statement and emphasise transport theme. Extra interior details were incorporated including timber look floating shelves, geometric tiled splashback and industrial lockers personalised for staff.

With the priority being staff productivity and sociability, and offsetting the removal of individual offices, generous quantities of centralised meeting rooms, quiet rooms and collaboration spaces were provided, ensuring they are easily accessible from all locations in the tenancy. A breakout area complete with a foosball table was also included, facilitating a fun social hub for staff interaction and relaxation.
