Project Description

SocietyOne is a leader in marketplace lending in Australia and is backed by Consolidated Press Holdings and News Corp. The rise in Peer2Peer lending in Australia and its position in the market has seen SocietyOne grow massively over its near 6 years and late in 2015 resulted in the company needing to again increase its capacity in head count.

With a significant shortage of meeting spaces and no more room to accommodate new staff, the company took another floor within its existing building and was in need of a new fit-out being completed within the shortest possible timeframe. With their experience in the building and a reputation from being able to get the job done, Morphos was introduced to those at SocietyOne driving the project.

In addition to providing headcount and meeting spaces, SocietyOne were keen to create a workplace that was open, fun, agile and multifunctional, while utilising aspects of an existing partial fit-out.

SocietyOne were keen to incorporate “Project/ Collaboration” areas, where the employees could stand up, talk and collaborate. The areas needed have enough wall space for writing without blocking the views.

Morphos were asked to respond with a solution, up against the companies previous provider. With a prompt design that hit the mark and a workable budget and solution on time, SocietyOne got the morphos team on-board.

To facilitate turnaround time and budget, some of the front of house hard fit-out was retained, with the addition of some new features and joinery making the area feel more inviting, contemporary and incorporate an associated but independent company, Clearmatch.

All meeting rooms were designed to bring colour, versatility and privacy to the environment.

The Breakout/ kitchen area was to be designed in a way that could be used as Project space and hold “Town Hall” meetings with all employees including their New Zealand offices via weblink/ projector. The kitchen had to be kept on the same location so we opened up the space, added new joinery and finishes updating the look and functionality of the area.

The final result has worked every bit well as intended and SocietyOne have been delighted with the outcome.
