In early 2018, Morphos had the opportunity to assist international paper supply company, Norske Skog, alongside their representatives, NB Property Consulting, as they assessed options of stay-put vs relocate. After validating the suitability of the preferred alternate location with test fit, concepts and budgeting, negotiations were completed and Morphos launched into detailed design, documentation and onto construction of the new space, which included some existing fit-out and landlord funded improvements.
Being a multinational company, this Sydney sales office needed to reference the global Norske Skog identity while still providing a local interpretation and relevance. The exposed timber detailing in the reception area gave a little nod to the company name, which translates to Norwegian Forest.
Specific challenges in this project were to capitalise on the functional uses of space, while also providing a comfortable work environment with maximised natural light and a generous breakout space. The use of glass partitions and an open plan workstation arrangement that minimized dead space achieved both these objectives.
Careful combinations of new and reused furniture and the introduction of new custom joinery and signage provided a fresh, welcoming and efficient environment for the business, while keeping it on track with budgetary requirements.
