The Australian Restructuring Insolvency and Turnaround Association (ARITA) represents practitioners and other associated professionals who specialise in the fields of restructuring, insolvency and turnaround. Based in Sydney’s CBD, a relocation to a new tenancy prompted their need for a fresh new fit out and office interiors.

Drawing inspiration from the ARITA logo, a strong and geometric theme was devised to create a sense of brand continuity through the space. This was achieved by using blue and green tones, strong geometric lines, black framing, bold pops of colour and feature flooring inserts that collectively creates a dynamic and vibrant workspace.

Beginning with the front of house, the client wanted a low key, yet welcoming waiting area. To compensate for this small space and create a sense of openness, angled glass and framing was used to create a strong impact upon arrival whilst also filtering in natural light. This paired with geometric film detailing and bold waiting furniture creates an immediate reflection of the company’s branding upon entering the space.

Consistent film detailing is carried throughout the entirety of the office, creating a sense of continuity that unites the open plan work area. Incorporating elements of high contrast is a visual element that is heavily featured throughout the fit-out and furniture selections. Coloured carpet inserts provide a sense of zoning through this contrast, as blue sections reside underneath workstations clusters, and monochrome patterning lies beneath the modular Boardroom tables. Additionally, bold glass framing, angular pendant lights and geometric feature film employs the use of a strong and sharp directional lines. Light timber tones have been applied through the joinery details and loose furniture to invigorate the space and compliment the bold black window frames and workstation leg systems. In particular, a bold timber-look feature screen creates a sense of separation from the kitchen and residing workspace. Borrowing its angular form from the ARITA logo, the company branding is further enhanced and creates additional visual interest within the space. Further space division is also achieved through the incorporation of an A-Frame bookshelf styled with a myriad of pot plants to incorporate greenery and life into the space.

Reflecting the specific needs of the clients brief, the necessity for a highly flexible and collaborative Boardroom was a must-have in the tenancy. To achieve this, all tables in the Boardroom and Meeting room are modular, collapsible and on castors to facilitate multiple configurations and training-style activities.

The final result of the fit out for ARITA is highly detail orientated, borrowing its bold complexity from their logo that instills a sense of pride in their company branding. The office space is fun and dynamic achieving an interesting yet multi functional office space that makes the most of its surroundings.
