Alsco is a global textile rental company servicing the hospitality and services industry. They recently relocated to a full floor office in the Chatswood business precinct and enlisted Morphos to design and fit-out their new Australian headquarters.
The client brief had some challenges in trying to balance a high proportion of enclosed offices while still creating a sense of connection, enabling teams to function cohesively across the floor. Taking inspiration from one Alsco’s mission statements: “Choosing Alsco means choosing a brighter, greener future” the aim was to maximize natural light and integrate plants and positive environmental choices throughout the space.
Alsco are an established company with a long history, and had a specific character that they wanted to reflect in their new offices. Classic finishes with a contemporary take set the scene of timeless solidity but also state innovation and forward thinking. From the moment you enter the floor, the bold green wall featuring an illuminated company logo conveys confidence and pride. Crisp white details and light timber create a freshness, while stone and brass accents add an element of luxe. The custom planter and contemporary furniture in the reception area give a sense of welcoming on a personal scale.
The open reception forms the hub of the office; backing onto a generous breakout space and connecting the two halves of the workplace. Corridors leading from the reception feature full height historical images; reinforcing Alsco’s enduring brand and connecting current staff and visitors with the company’s beginnings. Meeting rooms flow from this central hub, allowing for ease of hospitality and access to all the staff.
Staff amenity was a high priority; AV solutions and a smart booking system support the meeting spaces, all the workstations are sit to stand and a variety of quiet rooms and open collaboration areas provide flexibility
